What "your own software on the internet" actually means

Owners sometimes picture custom software as a computer in the office corner, or a CD from 2005. It has not worked that way for years. Here is what you actually get, in plain words.

It lives at your address

Your system runs at a web address you own, like office.yourcompany.com. There is no machine in your office to maintain and nothing to install. Rent for the server is ₹15k to ₹40k a year, paid by you to the hosting company, in your own account, so it never depends on us.

Any phone, any laptop, anywhere

Your manager opens it on the office desktop. You check the day's numbers from your phone at home. A salesperson updates a visit from the field. Same system, same live data, because it is on the internet, not on one computer. It does need an internet connection, the same as WhatsApp does; that is the honest limit.

A login decides who sees what

Each person signs in and sees their part. The accountant sees payments but not salaries. The salesperson sees their own customers. You see everything. When someone leaves, you switch off their login in one click, and nothing walks out the door with them.

Your customers can have a door too

The same system can give your customers their own app or login: place an order, check a balance, see a status. They see only what belongs to them, it carries your business name, and it reads from the same live data your office uses.

Where the data lives, and whose it is

In a professional data centre, in a hosting account registered to you, backed up on a schedule. Clients outside India choose the region: the Gulf, Singapore, Frankfurt or the US. If we disappeared tomorrow, your system keeps running and any developer can take over, because the code and the accounts are yours. The handover list spells out every item.

What it costs to keep running

Hosting rent, plus changes when you want them, quoted per change. There is no per-user monthly fee, so the eleventh employee costs nothing. That is the structural difference from subscriptions, and it is most of why the three-year arithmetic comes out the way it does.
